Main Admission Criteria

 
  • The College admits only FEMALE candidates.
  • The admission shall be made on the basis of merit.
  • Physical presence of the candidate seeking admission is essential.

Other conditions to be fulfilled by the students seeking admission to the college are as given below:

Minimum Score Requirements

  • B.A. (Programme) & B.Com: Students having less than 40% in the aggregate in their last qualifying examination will not be considered for admission. The aggregate will be counted on the basis of one language subject and three best elective subjects.
  • B.A. (Hons.) Hindi: Students having less than 45% in the total aggregate and less than 50% in Hindi in their last qualifying examination will not be considered for admission. The aggregate will be counted on the basis of one language subject and three best elective subjects. If a candidate has an aggregate of 40% or above in 4 subjects (not necessarily including English) and has passed 'Probhakara' examination, she is eligible for admission to the Hindi Honours Course.
  • B.Sc.Physical Science Course: The applicant must have 45% marks in Science Stream and one Language Subject in qualifying examination. The aggregate marks will be counted on the basis of Physics, Chemistry/Computer Science and Mathematics (PCM) subjects.

A candidate must have passed one of the following

  • The Senior School Certificate Examination (Class XII) of the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi or an examination recognized as equivalent.
     
  • The Intermediate examination of an Indian University or an examination recognized as equivalent. Student should have passed in 4 written subjects including one language.
  • The Indian School Certificate Examination (12 years) of the council of Indian School Examination, New Delhi, Students should have passed in 4 written examinations (one Language and three Elective subjects out of four).
  • Pre-University Examination (2 years after 10 years of schooling) of an Indian University recognized by the University of Delhi.
  • The General Certificate of Education Examination of U.K. Students should have passed with at least five subjects at the ordinary level and at least two subjects at the advanced level. These two advanced level courses may either be chosen from among the five ordinary level subjects or from outside this group prescribed by the University of Delhi.

Admission of candidates belonging to other examination bodies

  • Candidates belonging to examination bodies other than those listed in the section above, shall not be entertained by the college without production of ELIGIBILITY CERTIFICATE issued by the University of Delhi. Wherever such Eligibility Certificate indicates grades, they will be treated at par with the grade of Indian School Examination for purpose of admission requirements.
  • Migration Certificate: Candidates, who have passed their last examination from a Board or University outside Delhi, will be required to submit their migration certificate from that Board or University latest by a date fixed in this behalf. Failure to do so may result in their admission being canceled without any further notice to them.(Please check the Admission Calendar to know the exact date applicable for the concerned academic year.

How to obtain and submit admission forms?

  • Application as prescribed by the college can be obtained from the college by making a payment of fee fixed in this behalf on or before the on the prescribed form obtainable from the office of the college on all working days (from Monday to Friday) between 10.00 A.M. to 5.00 P.M during the period specified in the admission calendar.
  • Admission forms should be filled in completed by the candidate in her own handwriting.
  • For applying for different courses, a separate admission form should be filled and submitted.
  • If any false attestation/falsified records are detected, the student will be debarred from attending any course in the university or its college (s) for next five years and in addition, a criminal case under relevant section of IPC will be instituted against.

Documents required

While a student need not attach copies of certificates with the preliminary application form, she must produce the original along with a set of attested photocopy of following. At the time of admission the student must have:

  • Registration slip in original.
  • Date of Birth certificate in original.
  • Mark sheet (10+2) in original.
  • Character certificate from the institution last attended in original.
  • Provisional/Original certificate (10+2).
  • One attested /self attested copy of each of the certificate mentioned as above.
  • Two self attested passport size photographs.
  • Other relevant documents such as SC/ST/OBC certificate, certificate of extra curricular activities/sports & the like.

Note: Those students who do not fill the preliminary form will be denied admission in the college.

Other Applicable Rules

  • Candidates whose results are not declared by the last date of admission and who are unable to comply with the requirements of the University in submission of provisional certificate and the detailed mark sheet etc. will not be considered eligible even for provisional admission.
  • All admissions in the college are provisional and subject to the approval of the University
  • Rounding off the fraction of marks is not permissible for admission to any course in the university.
  • The admission of candidates with compartment, if made, will be provisional subject to passing their examination in the subject concerned in the first attempt to be held in July or August. In case she fails to pass or fails to appear in the subject concerned, her provisional admission will stand cancelled automatically.
